Robotics Kits for Kids
In the beginning my computer classes have been focusing on Scratch and Processing. Recently I have added kits to allow a richer experience for the kids. Scratch 2.0 and Lego Wedo are a perfect match for the younger children.
Right now I am planning new content using robotics kits. I have started to compare the Fischertechnik TX kit with the Lego EV3 kit. You see them here on the photo, side by side. As I have bought both of them, I intent to do an intensive comparison of the two systems and share my experiences with you.
The hardware is actually only one part of what I am looking at. More interesting is the software. Is it easy to use for the students? How much efforts does it require to set up a project? What about debugging?
I hope that I can give you some valuable feedback on these issues, stay tuned! In case you have any questions, please let me know!
